Adaptation in Action

The IK-ADAPT team believes that in order for adaptation to be most effective, cure meaningful, and supported by communities, it must be based upon the vast knowledge and experience of responding to changing climatic and environmental conditions that are embodied in Inuit traditional knowledge. By examining how Inuit knowledge facilitates adaptation, and developing strategies for documenting and disseminating Inuit knowledge that are community-created and community-supported, IK-ADAPT aims to strengthen the evidence base for adaptation action, while simultaneously promoting Inuit knowledge transmission and Inuit-created adaptation strategies.
